Background
At a young age, Rolf Technic grew up under his father Thauld Technic, a professional fisher. He took the up the rod and began angling in his early years. One day, his father disappeared during an ocean fishing venture never to return.
Rolf has been travelling with along across the seas only to run into a travelling bard at a port in Limsa Lominsa. He wound up taking up the profession so as to get more information out and abouts the area.
He has continued his search but is melancholy after his father being missing so long. Instead he has decided to take up the efforts of teaching fishing to those interested as well as performing duets with Lis, his "shadow," at various places often finding himself at the Quicksand performing and practicing new songs as duet named "The Technicals".

The Musical Automaton
A stormy night out on the Sea of Jade, Rolf was out fishing alone on his galley; suddenly, a bite occurs such that it pulls him overboard. Now, being a fisher for a while, he's pulled in some gargantuan creatures; alas, he was still pulled into the water by this.
Turns out he seemed to have snagged on what looks to be a body. He quickly swam to the service to grab a rope fastened to the hoist of his boat used for normally fishing up large treasures.
He swam back down to the body, tied the large hook around securely, and proceeded to engage the hoist. The body he seemed to have pulled up was actually an animatron.
He sent it off to a couple of trusted engineers to see if they could get it working. Thankfully it was merely due to a lack of power and after a quick changing of crystals, she was up and running.
Silent, yet very willing to learn, she follow's Rolf's actions and footsteps quickly taking up the bow and cello as favoured instruments. Something about a string drew her to it ...

New Tavern Owner: Rolf Technic has recently acquired a tavern after a falling out with a previous one's management. He and his family have moved into an old decrepit academy and are currently renovating it for future use.
Musical Performance: Can often be found in the Quicksand playing music. Come up and request a song anytime! I may not be able to play it immediately, but I can lean the song in no time at all or it may take a day or so to learn it.
Fishing Adventures: Fishing is a huge part of his life and he loves to share the passion of the trade with anyone.
